Especially in American culture, we don't talk about death; we don't think about it; we like to pretend it doesn't happen. But it's the one thing that, for certain, is going to happen to every single one of us.

I think it's really hard to go wrong if you... pursue wonder and awe. You can probably overdo it... but I think there's a wonder deficiency in most lives.

I do believe in the cosmic insignificance. It's very humbling to think our timespan, even all of human recorded history, is just a speck of dust of the universe's timespan.

What you choose to do, I think, is more important than what necessarily happens along the way—what you have less control over. You have complete control over your choice. So, I'm going to say intentions matter more than actions.

I think meaninglessness can be terrifying, but in a way, it can also be liberating, because it frees you to kind of do whatever you choose to pursue.
